Sorry we haven't written in a few days. The weekend was rough going on Kerri but today was the day we have been praying for. Kerri definitely started to get better this morning - her smile has returned for more than just an instant. The sparkle is coming back into her eyes and she was able to go briefly out of the room in her wheelchair to see the beautiful view from our 8th floor waiting room! They were even flying the large flag on Obisbado for her.
We believe her new medication has given her some relief. The neurologist told us it would take 3-5 days to tell if it was working, and today was the 3rd full day. Kerri also asked the doctor to stop a medication that she thought was working against her - and she was right on target. Once again we were so impressed at how the doctors really take the time to listen to the patients here. They heard what Kerri was saying, respected her opinion, and listened.
Tonight we celebrated with take-out from Applebee's, one of Kerri's favorites. It was so nice to see John and Rosemary and their family - we'd like to meet under healthier circumstances sometime - but it was wonderful to see such caring friends. We are truly learning how important our "RSD family" is becoming.
And we can never thank our family and friends at home enough - we couldn't be making it through this without your love and support.
